The June Daring Bakers' challenge was hosted by Jasmine of Confessions of a Cardamom Addict and Annemarie of Ambrosia and Nectar. They chose a Traditional (UK) Bakewell Tart… er… pudding that was inspired by a rich baking history dating back to the 1800's in England.
Although it was delicious, the finished tart came out runny and mushy. Haven't figured out what went wrong. It ended up looking like a fruit pie instead of a delicate tart. A couple of notes:
- I blind-baked the crust and the crust turned out delicious! Great texture and crisp/flaky.
- Used a salad shooter to grate the butter used in the crust.
- I used strawberry jam, although you can't see it, it can be tasted.

It does look like a fruit pie, but it looks delicious! Is it apple?
