“A box without hinges, key, or lid,
Yet golden treasure inside is hid.”
J.R.R. Tolkien, The Hobbit – Riddles In The Dark
Answer to this riddle in the dark: Eggs (or Eggses).
I couldn’t resist weaving in a mention of an all-time favorite series of novels that has been dear to my heart since before I was a teen (no pun intended).
After shooting and during reviewing these egg model images, Hubbs was surprised at what was seemingly an unnatural color for eggs – blue/green. The Araucana and Ameraucana Hens lay beautiful bluish-green colored eggs.
Do you suppose Theodor Geisel (Dr. Seuss) was inspired by the Araucana and Ameraucana eggs when he wrote the infamous and critically acclaimed Green Eggs and Ham?
I’ve been kitchen playing with a classic creamy dessert, adding a smallish twist, incorporating both a chocolate and fruit element. Hopefully that post will be up in the next couple of days. Any guesses what I’m up to?
Have a great week and enjoy the last days of April!
