Juiciest Peach in the World

Our Babcock peach season ended weeks ago. I shouldn’t complain because we enjoyed a bountiful harvest…

I‘m proud of our peach tree. He (I’ve decided my peach tree is a “he”), is not very large and you wouldn’t have believed that for his size that he would produce the hundreds of juicy, sweet peaches that he shared with us this year.

I’m ashamed to admit that I didn’t nearly put them to use as I anticipated to. A lot of fresh eating and adding to salads. Even became quicker at peeling them when needed by placing the peaches in hot water for about 10 seconds and then shocking the heck out of them by placing in ice water. Although peaches are still abundant in the stores, they don’t compare to the juiciness, size and texture of these Babcocks.

This post wasn’t really suppose to be about our Babcock peaches (I shared a post about the tasty stone fruit a couple of weeks ago already). I really just wanted to share a favorite quote credited to American burlesque dancer and entrepreneur, Dita Von Teese:

I love the simplicity of the quote but how it still speaks volumes, doesn’t it? It pairs well with Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off” lyrics!

So when life’s got you down or when your professionalism, creativity or anything about you is personally being attacked by naysayers – especially by those don’t know how to be otherwise or have a kind thing to say – take Dita’s quote to heart!
