Welcome October and the first full month of the Autumn season!
October is meaningful in many ways but it is also quintessentially the month of pumpkins in all shapes, sizes, colors and varieties. I’ve been anxiously waiting for “October” and holding back on anything that is pumpkin because by the time Thanksgiving rolls around, we will be ready to bid adieu to the beautiful and tasty squash (at least temporarily).
I have a couple more pumpkin-esque images to share in this post. To better express my fondness for this month, I’m bidding welcome in various languages.
Yes, It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. Read/view the rest of the post…
It doesn’t take much to make me happy (although some of my loved ones may snicker and raise a brow to that opening). I gasped, maybe squealed when spotting a bin of these whimsical pumpkins (called Orange Sparklers). I anticipate mid-September when our local market starts rolling fun cultivars of this squash, used for both cooking with and decor. I painstakingly rummage through the whole bin, picking, plucking and selecting from each of these cuties for those that show character. They can endure and last a very long time (I still have several from last year’s selection, that’s over a year!).
Within the following images, the languages used to express October salutations were chosen due to their high priority on my bucket list. Yes, one day I hope to visit these fine countries (along with Portugal and Greece – in no particular order of favoritism). Click over and visually travel with me through each of these countries from my dedicated Pinterest boards.
So Welcome October in Spanish, Italian, and French.
In Spanish – en español
In Italian – in italiano
In French – en français
I’m not one to stand in line looking all hungirly and desperate for a food sample at Costco. However, no line and pumpkin pie – had my first tasting of a most excellent pumpkin pie this last weekend. Made me so happy for the rest of the day (see, I am easy to please).
So what to make next…? 😉
